This study aimed to investigate, from a gender perspective, the working and health conditions of female workers who use motorcycles for deliveries via apps in the metropolitan region of João Pessoa, Paraíba. This is an exploratory, qualitative study. A semi-structured interview script, based on the theoretical framework of the theme, was used. Fifteen female workers participated, and their statements were transcribed and analyzed through thematic content analysis. The participants reported conflicts with peers, lack of support, gender-based violence, initial motivations for registering on the platforms, and the effects of this work on their physical and mental health. The importance of building and strengthening the work collective was highlighted as a protective strategy. The study shows how the intersection of health and patriarchal market standards acts as significant social determinants of health. To address these challenges, understanding this phenomenon is crucial for ensuring qualified healthcare through policies that mobilize and challenge social structures.
