Worker health is a fundamental right, essential for ensuring decent working conditions and well-being. However, the inclusion of trans individuals in the labor market faces multiple structural barriers, requiring an in-depth analysis of public policies aimed at both their entry into and retention in employment. This article aims to foster reflection on labor-related public policies and practices that promote the effective and sustainable inclusion of trans people in the workforce, taking into account the social, structural, and health-related challenges faced by this population. The article is organized into three main sections: first, it presents a historical overview, highlighting the challenges faced by trans individuals in accessing and remaining in the labor market. Next, it contextualizes Brazilian and international labor policies, identifying initiatives that can serve as references. Finally, it discusses the role of public policies in promoting inclusion and suggests strategies to expand access and retention of trans individuals in the world of work.
