Abstract

The study aimed to understand how users of a CAPS AD-III from a city in Pernambuco, with experience of hospitalization in Therapeutic Communities, evaluate the therapeutic proposals of these two devices. It was intendend to know their experiences of care and analyze possible convergences and divergences regarding the type of care offered, valuing their points of view. Being a qualitative research, assuming evaluative purposes, entry into the field occurred from the perspective of cartography, using the user-guide tool, with the definition of two interlocutors, besides the writing of cartographic diaries. The results were supported by the methodology of oral reports, highlighting five axes of discussion: 1. understandings about care logic from the perspective of users; 2. bureaucratization and protocolization of care production; 3. medicalization in care devices; 4. care versus control and 5. use of psychoactive substances and gender issues. Aiming to contribute to the analysis of the impact of the National Mental Health Policy on RAPS devices in the Northeastern semiarid, the study evidenced the importance of permanent evaluation processes, emphasizing the role of users, presenting effects of the Psychiatric Reform process in the region and possible paths for its strengthening.
